A guide to downloads

The downloads section offers a selection of Microsoft office files for you to download directly to your computer. All these files other than the Microsoft PowerPoint file are supplied in a template format, (.dot)

Internet web browsers can be quite inconsistent when saving documents which can often confuse users. To guarantee saving a document into your computer you should follow the following guide:

Saving a download to your computer

  • Right click on the link: a popup menu will appear.
  • Scroll down that menu and click on 'Save Target As'.
  • You will be then prompted to choose a folder of your choice within your computer to save the file to.
  • To open the document, find the folder you saved it in and double click.
  • Macintosh users Instead of right clicking, hold
down the mouse button and the menu will appear as above.

You will now be able to access the document in Microsoft Word by selecting 'New' and 'New from existing document' and selecting the location of your saved file.
