How do you boost university students' recognition of your brand by a whopping 500%?

The brief

Wilkinson is a family owned business with a network of 321 stores across the UK. It’s one of the fastest growing retail businesses, selling everyday products at competitive prices. As part of their plans they wanted to increase their share of the university student marketplace.

Our solution

We developed a campaign look and feel which would immediately grab the attention of students. The tone of voice was inherently young and fun and introduced humour around alternative uses for Wilkinson products. The theme was carried across flyers inserted into university welcome packs, fresher magazine ads, web banners linking to online promotions, voucher books and a year wall planner and sticker pack showing opening times and nearest stores.


The campaign figures showed a 102% year on year revenue growth and a 500% increase in unprompted brand recognition among the target market.
