After months of exhaustive training (or is that just exhausted training?) myself and good friend Chris survived the Men’s Health Survival of the Fittest 10K Challenge (although the Nottingham course was actually 12km!!!).
The ordeal involved a 10 km run (12km) with 10 obstacles to negotiate, ranging from an army assault course to running up and down the terraces of the Nottingham Forest football ground, all topped off with a ‘refreshing’ dip in the river Trent!
The sight of a 10ft “GO DADDY” banner loving crafted by my kids was a real boost, but not quite enough to get me over the 9ft wall without a slight hand just before the finish line.
So after 1 hour 32 mins, I am now the proud owner of a shiny medal, some muddy trainers and a set of old man’s knees!
